Effect of Linear and Nonlinear Pedagogy Physical Education Interventions on Children’s Physical Activity: A Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial (SAMPLE-PE)

چکیده

Background: School-based interventions are a key opportunity to improve children’s physical activity (PA); however, there is lack of evidence about how pedagogical approaches motor learning in education (PE) might affect PA children. Therefore, this study aimed assess different PE PA. Methods: Participants (n = 360, 5–6 years) from 12 primary schools within the SAMPLE-PE randomized controlled trial were randomly allocated either Linear Pedagogy (LP: n 3) or Nonlinear (NP: interventions, where received 15-week intervention delivered by trained coaches, control group 6), followed usual practice. ActiGraph GT9X accelerometers used metrics (moderate-to-vigorous PA, mean raw acceleration and lowest over most active hour half hour) whole segmented weeks at baseline, immediately post-intervention 6 months follow-up. Intention treat analysis employing multilevel modelling was effects. Results: LP NP did not significantly levels compared group. Conclusion: based on alone be effective improving habitual

The Role of Nonlinear Pedagogy in Physical Education the Role of Nonlinear Pedagogy in Physical Education

In physical education, the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) pedagogical strategy has attracted significant attention from theoreticians and educators alike because it allows the development of game education through a tactic-to-skill approach based on the use of modified games. However, it has been proposed that, as an educational framework, it currently lacks adequate theoretical ground...

Effect of Jogging Program on Midwives’ Physical Fitness: A Randomized, Controlled Trial

Background & aim: Background & aim: Physical fitness is essential for maintaining optimal health and can be achieved and improved by doing physical activities. Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 max) has been used as a measure of physical fitness. This study aimed to determine the effect of jogging program on midwives' physical fitness. Methods:In this randomized controlled trial two large healthc...

A cluster-randomized controlled trial of strategies to increase adolescents’ physical activity and motivation during physical education lessons: the Motivating Active Learning in Physical Education (MALP) trial

BACKGROUND The physical activity (PA) levels of many children and adolescents in Australia are currently insufficient to promote health benefits. Physical education (PE) programs aim to promote PA and reach nearly all school-aged children, but PA levels within PE lessons are often low. PE teachers may influence children's motivation to be physically active in PE lessons, but little is known abo...

Physical Activity Enhances Self-Esteem of Male College Students; a Randomized Controlled Trial

Introduction: Self-esteem is a sense of values, the degree of approval, affirmation, acceptance and being valuable that a person has toward himself. As exercise causes a feeling of adequacy and efficiency, it may increase self-esteem. The present research aimed to study the effect of a physical activity program on self-esteem of male college students. Methods:</st...

Increasing students’ physical activity during school physical education: rationale and protocol for the SELF-FIT cluster randomized controlled trial

BACKGROUND The Self-determined Exercise and Learning For FITness (SELF-FIT) is a multi-component school-based intervention based on tenets of self-determination theory. SELF-FIT aims to increase students' moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) during physical education lessons, and enhance their autonomous motivation towards fitness activities. Using a cluster randomized controlled trial...
